In 2021, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Over the past 11 years, she has developed, coordinated and delivered clinically-oriented anatomy content for over 50 visceral, musculoskeletal, neuroanatomy and histology units to over 6,000+ health profession and science students. She uses approaches to engage students to build a firm foundation of anatomy knowledge. Dr Meyer’s research focuses on student motivation and technology-enhanced learning of anatomy. She has served as a peer reviewer for leading Anatomy journals and higher degree by research theses. She is a twice-elected (2016 to 2018 and 2019 to 2021) and actively involved Council member and now Treasurer (2022 to 2024) of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Clinical Anatomists (ANZACA), the professional body in Australia for clinical anatomy and educational research. She is also an active member of the editorial board of Anatomical Sciences Education. Dr Meyer advocates for open access to resources and the global dissemination of knowledge.
Dr. Jamie Chapman
Dr Jamie Chapman is a Senior Lecturer in Human Anatomy in the Tasmanian School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He has a PhD from the University of Adelaide where he studied marsupial reproductive biology, during which he gained experience in many microscopy techniques, primarily electron and light microscopy. He ran an electron microscopy unit for the Royal Hobart Hospital’s pathology department before becoming the coordinator of histology teaching into Medicine and unit coordinator for a large first year Human Anatomy and Physiology unit. Dr Chapman has over 20 years’ experience teaching histology, and he’s also known on social media as Chapman Histology with his 3-minute histology videos on YouTube, and regular posts on Twitter and Instagram.
