Histological section of skin stained with H&E, showing the epidermis and dermis with associated structures. The epidermis forms the outer layer of stratified squamous keratinized epithelium, while the dermis contains loose (papillary dermis) and dense irregular (reticular dermis) connective tissues. Within the dermis, a hair follicle extends downward, accompanied by a sebaceous gland. A sudoriferous (sweat) gland is present deeper in the dermis. Sensory structures include a tactile corpuscle located near the epidermis, shown in a magnified inset, and a lamellar corpuscle situated in the deeper dermis. The image illustrates the organization of skin layers and associated glands and sensory receptors.
