Cardiac Muscle: Cross-Section

  • Muscle Tissues
  • Cardiac Muscle
Image
Coloring Image
Histological cross-section of cardiac muscle stained with H&E. The image shows numerous acidophilic (pink), rounded cardiomyocytes cut transversely, many having a centrally located nucleus. Capillaries are interspersed between the muscle fibers, and the endomysium, a delicate connective tissue, surrounds individual cells. The image illustrates the structural organization of cardiac muscle tissue, including its vascular supply and connective tissue framework.
