Histological section of the uterine tube (fallopian tube) stained with H&E, showing the mucosal folds and surrounding layers. The lumen is lined by simple ciliated columnar epithelium with cilia visible in a magnified inset, along with peg cells. Beneath the epithelium lies the lamina propria, followed by the muscularis externa composed of inner circular and outer longitudinal smooth muscle layers. The outermost layer is the serosa. The image illustrates the organization of the uterine tube wall and highlights epithelial specialization for ovum transport and early embryonic development.
